CASH ONLY. This was my favorite restaurant while I was in Seattle. The prices for the value you're getting is unbeatable. Truly. Street-parking only but was able to find a 2-hour residential street spot.
I tried the Special Bento which was the lunch $12.50 price and thought this was an incredible value for the amount of food I received. The chicken & beef skewers were cooked to perfection accompanied by the teriyaki sauce, yum! They also give you a fair amount of sashimi. GREAT DEAL.
My friend got the Chirashi bowl and was really happy. Large portion size and thick cuts of fish. delicious. The rice was great as well.
We also tried the Sweet Shrimp ( ama ebi) and Scallop pieces. The scallop is definitely the better option of the two. Huge pieces and delicious. The sweet shrimp was not as sweet as we would have hoped.
Must-eat in Seattle! -

I was less than impressed by the quality of food here. The chirashi bowl was large and filling but the fish itself left little to be desired. I will say it was nice that you can customize it without any fees.
The sushi rolls themselves are cheap, and as such, incredibly small.
The tea and free miso soup was a nice touch, but we won't be going back. -

Overall rating: 4/5
Sushi: 4/5
I've tried about half of the dishes on their menu and they do not disappoint! I personally love ordering their spicy salmon avacado rolls, unagi with avacado roll, and my friends love their chirashi bowl & spicy avacado cream cheese rolls. Personally their chirashi bowl is decent for me which consists sashimi (raw fish) and rice. I've had so much fresh sushi in my life I wouldn't say it is the freshest, or the best, but worth the $16. I'd recommend sticking to their salmon rolls & sashimi.
Price: 5/5
Their price point is on point! I always leave satisfied and feeling like I've been taken well care of. Their sushi is definitely reasonably priced & most importantly, made with love.
Service: 5/5
They are quick to greet you and seat you if available. Friendly people working here, and they will make sure you have everything that you need. I've never had a problem with their service here and I've been here multiple times.
Atmosphere: 4/5
Nothing fancy or flashy here, it is rather a homey-kind of ambience with a lot of fun event posters to look at on the walls. Small place but can fit a decent amount of people. It's slightly cramped if you are with a larger group of people.
Cleanliness: 3/5
I am a clean freak so I find myself always cleaning my cups and utensils before eating. Each and every time I have used my napkin to wipe the inside of their teacup, there has been massive amount of stains that comes out which is disturbing for me but not a dealbreaker. I understand tea stains easily but I've been to places that serves tea but it's not this dirty. They either need to invest in new glass cups or do a better job at cleaning their plastic cups and dishes... I also witnessed yesterday a sushi chef accidentally rolling the rice into an order paper and he casually took the paper off and placed the paper to the side, but continued on making the sushi. Please continue to make your sushi with love and care! It was disappointing to see that.
Overall: I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family. They treat you well, have fresh sushi, and they don't plan on pinching pennies out of you!
Update 8/11/2019: just tried out the Bellevue location and their sushi is also on point! I love their nigiri. I also spotted a lot of customers eating their chirashi bowl and ordering mostly nigiri. Their seared salmon is my fav. They will not disappoint. -

Saw another Yelper's (shout out to T L.) review for Matsu. I liked it cause we both agreed that Matsu wasn't great. Consequently, when his review recommended Musashi's, I had to try it out.
I made it an Uber Eats lunch. Had to wait over an hour for delivery so I was getting a bit irritated. I went with 6 pieces of ikura nigiri and 6 pieces of saba nigiri.
Presentation was on point. All the pieces looked great. The ikura was a tad above okay. It tasted fine but the eggs were on the smaller side--- I prefer larger eggs with more juice inside. The saba was EXCEPTIONAL. Large pieces of fish, good amount of vinegar marinade, and perfect texture. I wish I had gotten 12 of those alone.
Will definitely order from them again. -

Honestly I love this place.
Here we have sashimi over rice w fresh salmon, tuna, yellowtail, albacore, broiled eel, scallop, shrimp, and flying fish roe. I prefer to switch out the eel with more salmon. Personally not the biggest fan of eel here but I love the thick cut of salmon!! My fav part hehe. Also I like how you get a little bowl of miso w your order and as always, a little hot tea. But remember to bring cash! ~$16
Somehow I always end up at the Wallingford one. It's a tiny little hole in the wall. But I'm a fan of the fast casual, little worse for wear atmosphere and the various dessert shops within walking distance. Ice cream or gelato anyone?? Cute date idea tbh.
If you're looking for a fancy sushi place with great seating and atmosphere this isn't the one. If you're looking for good, reasonably priced food with a fun area to stroll around after this is a good bet.
Remember bring cash. Street parking only. Go early or late for no wait.
Note: my friend did get her miso spilled on her by accident. We got a free California roll and it was v good. And she got a new miso soup. Sometimes these things happen.
